I honestly can't believe where the last few months have gone. So many things have happened in my life since I defended my WBC title against Esther Schouten in September. I have marked history again to be the first Female WBC Champion to promote her own World Title Defence. Esther was a true spirited champion who had never been cut or stopped in her 22 fight career. This was until she stepped in the ring in the hope to take my world title. I got to spend time with Esther before she left the country to return home and we had the most enjoyable evening at Palazzo Versace here on the Gold Coast. No one in their wildest dreams would have guessed the two gorgeous blondes had just been through boxing war two nights earlier. Click this link to see the write up by Paul Upham Australia's best Boxing Journalist. I featured on Australian Story on September 25th it was an unbelievable experience with Kent Gordon and the team. Click this link to view the documentary I attended the WBC Convention in Croatia Oct/Nov 2006. I met some amazing champions whilst I was there including the one and only "Marvellous Marvin Hagler". Marvin and his wife Kay were so amazing it's a champions dream come true to meet a legend in person. I also met other legendry champions like Azuma Nelson, Junior Whiter, Vitali Klitshko, Marvin Camel and Mikel Kessler. The WBC had arranged another sensational convention. I was voted in as the WBC Good Will Ambassador for 2007 which is an honour I am so proud of. I addressed the convention about my desire to create a WBC bible so everyone has an opportunity to learn about where to spend Eternity. I have spent the last few months celebrating recognition for Womens Sporting Awards all over Queensland. Emma Snowsill who's an amazing athlete has won all the awards for 2006 for her amazing performance in triathlons. It's so awesome to be recognised alongside outstanding athletes like Emma. It shows that the sport of women's boxing is now widely accepted. 2007 has started as a promising year for the "WILDTHING" God has blessed me by giving me a close relationship with Paul and Bev Broughton. Paul is Chairman of the Titans NRL team here on the Gold Coast. Paul and Bev have been so amazing to me they feel more like family than close friends. There will be photos on my web shortly of me wearing the Titan's supporters stocking in my last fight on Feb 23rd. Bev is responsible for the fantastic creations of the stockings. Paul set
up a meeting for me with Bill Johnstone (for those who haven't heard of
him he is the strength and conditioning coach for the Titans). Bill has
a reputation for his hard core, never say die training methods. I start
my first training session with Bill this week. I have mentioned Bill to
a few male friends who have all come back with pretty much the same response...quote
"Billy Johnstone he's a maniac, he'll push you like you've never
been pushed before" These words to an athlete are words that I long
to hear. Click below to read a little more on Billy Johnstone and the
Titan's NRL Team. My schedule is filling quickly so it's definitely an action packed 2007 in store for me. I will be at Suncorp Stadium on Sunday to support the Titan's while they play the Dragons. I would like to congratulate Lovemore Ndou on being crowned the IBF Jnr Welterweight Champion of the World after Fighting Noufel Ben Rabah on February 4th 2007. Lovemore has been my trainer just prior to my WBC Title Fight against Marcela Acuna in 2005. He is an absolute gentleman and an amazing athlete. Congratulations Lovemore you deserve everything that now comes your way. To each and every one of my supporters thank you so much. 2007 and 2008 are going to be very big years for me and I promise to keep you updated on a regular basis. My Marketing people are preparing some very promising Sponsorship packages, if you would like more information please email management@markad.com.au Wildthing
