September
1st was my mum's birthday she is a very special lady and my NO.1 fan...
I Love you mum
My Press conference announcing the WBC Wolrd Title Fight was held on
September 6th. "Aussie" Joe Bugner was a special guest at
the press conference and when it came to the TV camera's Joe and I were
a pretty entertaining duo. The support thoughout the media and corporate
world is absolutely fantastic leading into such a historical event.
The press conference opened so many doors and opportunities over the
weeks to follow. Leanne St George of St George and Associates is an
amazing woman and has worked tirelessly to ensure the PR side of this
event is spectacular.
Sunday 11th September I was invited as a guestspeaker at Steve Ryder's
church Reach out for Christ at Palm Meadow's. It was an amazing experience
to stand up in front of so many people and give a testimony about my life
and the wonders that GOD has bought into it. Everything that is happening
in my life I give the full glory to GOD. Not a day or a moment goes by
where I don't thank GOD for what I have and who I am.
Tuesday 13th September I spent a few hours up with the Brisbane Bronco's
Rugby Leagues Team as they went through a pre final training session.
I had a light hearted sparring session with Sam Thaiday while his team
mates gave him endless amounts of cheek. I also managed to sneak in
a friendly chat and photo shoot with some of the legends of the team
Darren Lockyer, Brad Thorn, Shane Webcke, Alfi Langer and the man himself
Mr Wayne Bennett. I was made very welcome by the club and enjoyed an
amazing experience.
Wednesday 14th September the search for the "Ultimate Card Guy"
was launched by the Go Girls in the Gold Coast Bulletin, the competition
will be ran via my web page and the entries are coming in. So if you
think you have or know some guy that has what it takes to be the "Ultimate
Card Guy" buy the Wednesday Bulletin and complete the entry form
on the Go Girls Section.
Thursday 15th September I travelled to Melbourne with David (my manager)
and Rod (my trainer) we spent a few days at the Crown Promenade which
allowed me to catch up with some friends I made whilst staying there
for a few weeks leading up to my fight with Neris Rincon in February
the staff there are amazing. I appeared on Good Morning Australia with
Bert Newton, SEN Radio live from Caulfield Races and also on Radio in
Perth which was loads of fun.
Over the course of the trip I enjoyed some time with Mark Edgley www.edgley.com
Mark Fitzpatrick www.lightspeedmedia.com.au
and friends who pulled some pretty amazing stunts whilst I was in Melbourne.
One of them was to ensure that when I attend the Brisbane Lion's Brownlow
Medal dinner on Monday 19th September at The Gabba, and that I am dressed
by leading fashion designer Morrisey. I can't begin to explain how exciting
my life is becoming. Thank you to both Mark Edgley and Mark Fitzpatrick
and most importantly Morrisey, I am truely blessed to be surrounded
by such amazing people.
Bringing myself right back to the road ahead of me and that's becoming
the WBC Featherweight Champion of the World, I spent time at St Kilda
PCYC sparing with none other than Lovemore Ndou IBF World Ranked no.
5 this is the second week that I have sparred with Lovemore and my lessons
from him are nothing short of amazing. We sparred twice over the weekend
I can't begin to explain how important training hard and smart is in
any sport. I spend time studying my sparring session's going over everything
that transpired during the session.
I am loving every moment of my preperation leading into this fight and
as much as I enjoy the publicity side nothing quite takes the place
of the long, hard hours in the gym that leads to developing yourself
as a world class athlete.
I want to personally thank you for visiting my web site and for your
support. If there is anything that you would like to see added to my
web site send me an email. I will
be back in a few days to chat some more.
Wildthing xx
