Sharon
Vs Esther
Schouten
SHARON
ANYOS STUNNING WIN!!
She's beautiful,
sexy and intelligent and perhaps the best pound 4 pound women's boxer
in the world… YEH that's right. Sharon "WILD THING" Anyos
our very own W.B.C champion has what experts would call the most sort
after belt in boxing.
This is the real thing baby, the same belt Paul Hurricane Briggs is
gunning for this week in the U.S I guess I'm trying to say this is as
big as it gets and all the aussies should sit up and take notice of
this very special Australian woman.
On Friday
September 22 Sharon defended her world title against Holland's formidable
Esther Schouten in what was a little cracker. Schouten who was ranked
number 3 in the world and touted as one of Europe's best was outclassed
in the end by the magnificent Anyos.
Round one
(1) was the hungry Schouten's round as she caught Anyos with some good
punches. I remember thinking 'oh my, this could be a long night'. Round
two (2) Anyos started taking control with some big right hands and great
inside fighting.
Rounds
three (3) and four (4) were similar. Then in round five (5) you could
see the title challenge of Schouten slowly start to slip away as Anyos
started getting to her. The back peddling Schouten could sense she was
in the ring with someone very special as the punches rained on her.
Now cut
over the right eye Schouten was in serious trouble and Anyos knew this
was the time to put an end to this great fight. The sixth (6th) and
what turned out to be the final round was just awesome.
Anyos pinned
Schouten against the ropes and showed her why she is regarded as many
as the world's best women's boxer. Thankfully referee Brad Vocale Australia's
best was there to save Schouten as Anyos was about to do her WILD THING….
Finally
in a very male dominated sport Anyos is getting her respect from her
male peers and in closing I would just like to say boxing is not just
fighting it's a discipline and all women from various backgrounds would
be inspired by this wonderful lady and her wonderful story. I am.
