Sharon Vs Marcela Acuna

Sharon Anyos has become the WBC Featherweight Champion of the WORLD! In a unanimous points decision Sharon defeated Argentines' Marcela Acuna. In a tough fight during which the Acuna was warned for head butting, Sharon stood tall out foxing and ultimately outboxing the hard punching Argentinian.

"I broke my finger in the first round and I've got cuts and marks all over me but I'm on top of the world" Sharon said after the fight. "To be WBC world champion lasts a lifetime. These marks on my face and swelling will be gone in a week. "It's what it takes to be a world champion and it doesn't bother me one bit." she said

"There are no other WBC champions in Australia, I am the only one, male or female." Sharon said she was delighted to receive a call from Kostya Tszyu, who offered his congratulations.

"To receive a call from a champion such as Kostya and hear him say we (the boxing fraternity) are all proud of you is just amazing."
